Every Government is elected to serve the public's best interest.
This Government like many others around the world have decided to hide the reality of the damage Delta is inflicting because the truth would cause people to panic and this could result in greater damage than that caused by the continued blissful ignorance.
Have you ever wondered why you don't see any media coverage or press articles about COVID-19 deaths in children, or younger fully vaccinated people with no underlying health conditions?
We know they do happen and according to Public Health England, these are not very rare exceptions. The latest data shows that 10 children aged 0-19 died in hospitals in England in September having tested positive for COVID-19 [Data Source: 1] and for the period 3rd August to 12th September 2021 shows that 1 in 1711 fully vaccinated under 50 year olds died within 28 days of positive specimen date (COVID-19 Delta). The death rate reported for fully vaccinated over 50 year olds was 1,176 out of 50,519 delta infections (1 in 43) [Data Source: 2].
If I was Prime Minister and having to consider all aspects including mental health, education and the economy - I would probably have to do the same, but at what cost?
The cost of this approach is the lives lost or severely limited because people are not even aware there is a risk.
The effect of blocking current news [Reference: 1], such as COVID-19 deaths in children - is to reinforce earlier sentiment, the public will have in mind that children are not at risk - as they have heard this so many times and have not seen anything to contradict this.
If the truth of the current situation was not hidden, people are more likely to act in ways that protect themselves and their children from these rarer but devastating outcomes.
Many of the parents who lost children to COVID-19 had no idea it could happen. The same is true where children have lost parents who were not old and fully vaccinated.
The public have the power to direct government policy when we act together. Unfortunately, the lack of clear and honest information has led to a divided public - with very strong often opposing opinions.
It is unlikely that the massive levels of infections in schools would be allowed to continue with so few protection measures in place, if the public saw the resulting deaths and permanent disability.
The pandemic is far from over, the next few months are likely to present the highest risk to both children and adults. Please do take care of yourself and your children.
Remember the families who have lost loved ones who were not old, vulnerable or unvaccinated - they want to share their stories to save you from the same fate - but the BBC, Sky and every other news agency will not hear them as they cannot publish. [Reference: 1]

Note: 10 deaths in September 2021 represents 16% of the figure for the whole Pandemic to date: 61 deaths are recorded where 13 had with no pre-existing condition which includes Asthma and Diabetes.

To test this was the case, a number of emails have been sent to the press relating to the death of a fully vaccinated parent aged under 50 with no underlying heath conditions. No replies have been received. As this is a small sample, please feel free to test this theory yourself to help identify a full list of what cannot be published – such as COVID-19 deaths in children, or younger fully vaccinated people with no underlying health conditions.
